Emergency management organizations can rapidly deploy the PX-900 over-the-air (OTA) radio analyzer on-the-go. The instrument reports the operating performance of two-way radios during critical, time-sensitive missions.
LocusUSA recently launched a portable DiagnostX instrument for P25 Conventional radio systems, the PX-900. This new mobile radio waveform analyzer enables Federal Agencies, the U.S. Military, and Public Safety to identify two-way radios in need of service, touch-free, over-the-air in real-time, without user intervention.
The PX-900 Portable Instrument is a radio monitoring solution that diagnoses the alignment characteristics and operability of two-way radios on a system. It proactively detects and identifies instances of crystal oscillator damage, radio frequency (RF) drift, and related radio frequency interference before these incidents lead to hazardous conditions and communication failures.
- Protocol: P25 Conventional and Trunk
- Frequency Bands: VHF 136-174, UHF 380-430, UHF 450-470, UHF 470-512 and 700, 800, 900 MHz
- Measurements: 14 inches (W) x 10 inches (H) x 4 inches (D)
- Case: Waterproof and dustproof
- Weight: 11 lbs. (approximately)
- Power Requirement: 12VDC at 1.5 Amps
- A stand-alone instrument that operates on standard AC or its own DC power (~6 hours)
- Generates reports allowing the user to identify radios requiring service and validate the accuracy of the other radios
“With the DiagnostX PX-900 portable instrument, convenient in-field testing and monitoring can be implemented and maintained without compromise,” said Joseph Rey, managing partner of LocusUSA. “This state-of-the-art device will make a difference in mobile radio maintenance by simplifying the analysis of mission-critical communications equipment while providing time-savings for organizations and ensuring the operational readiness of field radios.”

LocusUSA is an R&D engineering and software development company located in West Melbourne on the Space Coast of Florida since 2001. It is a leader in radio frequency (RF) capture for radio analysis and location.
The ability to capture and analyze the actual waveform of a radio transmission led to the development of DiagnostX, a patented system that can measure the alignment and operating characteristics of a radio, touch-free, over-the-air (OTA) in real-time, without user intervention.
LocusUSA supports government customers across the United States and Canada on the local, state, and federal levels with this first-of-its-kind, proactive tool ensuring the optimal performance of a radio system.
